Sadly some of our members have chosen to leave our clan. The exact number and who they are is not yet clear to me, but info will be posted here as soon as it is available.
As I understand this is based on a desire to run a smaller clan more ’seriously’ – with more focus on winning and getting results than everybody having fun and everybody having ‘equal rights’.
Let us thank them for our good times together and wish them best of luck with their endevaour! =)
a few thoughts on the pcw (5-0, 5-0 for us on badlands/granary) we played versus HellJumpers (div5) yesterday. Several things seemed to have improved dramatically to me:
Communication was much better than before, it was very useful to have people call out fallen foes.
People were pulling back from engagements earlier than before to stay alive.
When we got scattered (on badlands as well as granary there were a few close calls), regrouping worked very well.
Target prioritization worked nicely, enemy medic went down a lot of times.
At times we had some really nice pressure going, especially on 2nd point of granary
Room for improvement I saw in the following areas:
We might start using a little more advanced tactics now, and do more concerted and timed flanking.
We might want to practice concerted point fire from explosives-bearing classes. That’ll require even more detailed communications, but can be used to great effect (as we were taught in the grisly match earlier this week).
We should do some KK+SOL practice runs if possible to maximize efficiency.
In communications, we might make it a habit to announce positions more. That was working quite okay on thursday, and I found it very useful, but there’s a little room for improvement here.
Sometimes we (including me) were getting a bit headstrong, but as said, much better than before.
Again, thanks to all who played, it was tons of fun – too bad HJ had some troubles and quit so abruptly.
Sadly I’m not able to play TF2 these days. I have some work to do on my game projects, and I’m also testing a Wacom Cintiq drawing board – which has to take priority over getting my gfx card replaced and installed.
I hope to get back soon – in a week or two – preferably less if possible – until then I’m just gonna hang around here on the site – and be available to chat on steam as usual. It seems you’re doing fine without me though, so just carry on as usual!
I just got the heads-up from Wisefool to introduce a new member: Metal-Joe!
He’s a good friend of mine, and he’s pretty excited to join us in our quest to conquer the TF2 world. He’ll be one of the active members – if we let him – and will be available for clan wars and whatnot.
So let’s all give him a warm welcome into the club. *headshots
Ok tomorrow there will probably be a pcw show up one mirc @ sow.tf2 or msg @ steam if u are intressted we will probably play around 22:00. If many Sowas are intressted we will gather 2 teams and play on our own server Sowas against Sowas ventrilo is requierd even if u got no mic. Also there is a game people who are intressted in clanwars and stuff should se http://etf2l.org/matches/11108/ just so u can se how it can be played. Source tv ip will be posted in sow.tf2 when/if i get it.
We’re around 30 members now – all more or less active. I was wondering if you guys have any thoughts about the size of our clan. Can it get too big?
Perhaps from now on we should have a vote on accepting new members? Or perhaps that is completely unnecessary…?
What’s your thoughts on this? Personally, I’m leaning towards the more the merrier, but I realise that some things change the bigger you get as a clan – and we just might risk inviting someone in that others don’t particularly like.
All this has nothing to do with James Lame of course – it was just a thought I had! =)
Wickedd asked me on irc about a decent way to train soldier-skills. Thanks to the venerable mister Legion, I have here in my hand a link for all soldier or demoman players who want practice. Instructions included on the linked page.
